This is my boy Parker! He is an awesome horse. He was a ranch horse where he was used to work cattle and roping but he is now mine! We love trail riding, going to SP practice and just bonding. It took me a long time to find Parker. We ran into MANY ugly people who would not give me the time of day when looking for a horse due to my weight. Then, we found a man in Weatherford who was honest, sincere and understanding. He told me of the one horse on his place that he would suggest and it was Parker. We took him home that day. Thanks to Mearl & my best friend Debbie for all those miles and still supporting me in my search.
Meet Dream Girl aka DG. Before she was ever even foaled, her owner demanded that she be euthanized at birth. The dam was bred by accident at a training facililt and the owner was so upset that she wanted the foal euthanized as soon as it was born. She moved her mare to another facility in Weatherford, TX where they explained to her that they would not allow that but they would help her find the foal home. Thanks to a member of Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society who saw the flyer posted at her small animal clinic and got the ball rolling to save the foal. At 10 days old, Dream Girl came into the rescue and fought to live. We were her foster home and took her to the vet at twice weekly for IV fluids as she refused to drink milk. She would not drink form a bottle, lap from a bucker or even nurse from the bucket with the nipple. Mearl would sit for hours on end every evening trying to get her to take milk, using a turkey baster he would fill her bottome lip and allow her to swallow it. She finally pulled out of danger after we offered her Equine Junior & foalac pellets. She started eating and has not had a bad day since.
